U.S. Rep. Scott Perry Defends Taxpayers’ 4th Amendment Rights In DC While The RINO In His District Voted With PA House Dems For SB-37: Imposing Unwarranted Searches & Data Collection of PA Drivers
While Congressman Scott Perry fights to defend our Fourth Amendment Rights in the DC Swamp, the entrenched RINO in his district, Rep. Tom Mehaffie (PA-106), voted with PA Democrats to undermine them.
American Liberty Is Under Attack
In these unprecedented times, we observe a significant departure from the norms ingrained in our national psyche, norms that have historically shaped our identity as a nation and as individuals. The freedoms and civil liberties bestowed upon us by divine providence and for which our brave founders waged a revolution are slipping away at an alarming pace.
Sadly, many of those whom we entrust to preserve our Republic are permitting these sacred rights to diminish. The Fourth Amendment besieged by mounting pressures and continual erosion, is a casualty of this trend. A poignant illustration of this narrative recently emerged on the federal stage as the U.S. House took up the contentious matter of reauthorizing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
While proponents of the FISA reauthorization bill tout its aim of surveilling digital communications beyond our borders, closer examination reveals a disquieting reality. Notably, Section 702 which grants the U.S. government extensive powers to conduct surveillance on American citizens without a warrant.
For example, a 2022 Transparency Report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence revealed that millions of warrantless backdoor searches were conducted by the government using FISA Section 702 in 2021 alone. Furthermore, during April testimony, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz could not provide clarity on the number of government officials authorized to conduct these backdoor searches on American citizens.
Notable among those who directly encountered these violations was the leader of the GOP and presidential nominee for 2024, President Donald J. Trump. He expressed his opposition to FISA in a Truth Social post.
Among these reasons, 19 House Republicans joined forces with House Democrats to block a procedural vote for the GOP House Leadership-backed reauthorization bill, leading to its defeat and a significant blow to Speaker Mike Johnson's leadership.
One of the most transparent and vocal in the defense of our God-given freedoms was Rep. Scott Perry (PA-10):
“The difference between online sellers having your data and the U. S. Government having your data is that none of those folks have the ability to arrest you at the end of a gun.
American citizens want the confidence they don’t live in a police state.”
Perry, along with the other House Republicans who opposed reauthorization’s highlighted a litany of egregious abuses perpetrated by the FBI, emphasizing the urgent requirement for additional safeguards for the American populace. Their aim was straightforward: to uphold the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution by implementing a pressing amendment requiring warrants for American citizens, along with another to prohibit intelligence agencies from purchasing your data.
“The Constitution says the U.S. Government has to have a warrant. To get around that, the intelligence agencies are just buying your data. I voted no.” - Rep. Scott Perry (PA-10)
Still, opposition to the warrant amendment persisted, particularly within the House Intelligence Committee. They contended that such a mandate would impede the intelligence community's capacity to swiftly identify national security risks. Likewise, the Biden White House came out staunchly opposed the warrant amendment.
Ultimately, the “reforms” failed to meet the expectations of privacy advocates and liberty watchdogs, as none of the proposed concerns were addressed.
Despite its blatant deficiencies, the FISA reauthorization bill cleared both the House and Senate without the inclusion of the desired amendments. In a race against time, President Biden signed the bill into law just hours before its expiration.
Numerous American liberty groups, including The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), voiced significant concerns upon the bill’s passage.
According to the The American Civil Liberties Union:
“We should be concerned that Section 702 is and will be used to disproportionately target disfavored groups, whether minority communities, political activists, or even journalists.”

Moreover, as Brennan Center Senior Director Elizabeth Goitein points out:
“The bill, would effectively grant the federal government access to the communications equipment of almost any business in the United States, is a gift to any president who may wish to spy on political enemies.”
Sadly, the true gravity of this bill's implications evades many. The reauthorization of FISA seriously threatens the sanctity of the Fourth Amendment, putting the privacy and security of all American citizens, businesses, and organizations at risk of unwarranted intrusion. Moreover, it grants unprecedented power to the government, notably President Biden. It allows unchecked access to data regarding his political opponents, threatening the balance of electoral fairness.
Amidst these disturbing developments, it's crucial to highlight the rather profound sentiments expressed by House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Bob Good regarding the absence of unanimous GOP backing for the warrant amendment.
"It's disheartening when we can't rally all Republicans to safeguard Americans' constitutional liberties," - GOP House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Bob Good.
Undoubtedly, the recent behavior of many "Republicans" in Washington, D.C., including Speaker Mike Johnson is disgusting.
It's a glaring contradiction when House Republicans seek reelection, touting their commitment to the core principles of freedom, liberty, and justice, yet at the same time, they're cozying up to the Biden administration and supporting policies that erode our Constitutional rights under the guise of false security. This hypocrisy cannot be ignored—it's a betrayal of the values they claim to champion.
That said, all American citizens should take the advice of Congressman Scott Perry (PA-10) from now on.
“Make your decisions about who represents you based on supporting your constitutional rights.” - Rep. Scott Perry Via X
In any event, it's abundantly clear that the collaboration between uni-party RINO's and Biden's neoliberal Democrats is part of a broader agenda to destroy American liberty in the United States. This trend is not confined to the federal level alone.
Trickle Down Tyranny In The Keystone State
In the timeless wisdom of Hermes Trismegistus, we find the profound maxim, "As above, so below." This ancient insight strikes a chord with Americans and Pennsylvanians alike, as we witness the assault on our fundamental rights at the federal level mirror what’s playing out on the state level.
A glaring illustration of this narrative unfolded recently with the passage of Senate Bill 37 by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The bill was passed by a margin of 124-77, with every member of the Freedom Caucus dissenting, citing clear overreach and freedom-robbing mandates.
According to the PA House Freedom Caucus:
“Senate Bill 37 would make it illegal to hold or support an interactive device while driving, citing transportation safety as the motive for the legislation.
“Even though ‘texting while driving,’ ‘reckless driving,’ and ‘distracted driving,’ are already roadway offenses in the state of Pennsylvania, this bill would seek to criminalize taking a hands-on emergency call and would mandate that parents attest that their child was educated on distracted driving material.”
“Additionally, it would force police officers to limit enforcement action against drivers of color – discriminating against those who appear to be Caucasian.”
The flaws inherent in this bill are glaringly apparent. It doesn't merely erode our fundamental Fourth Amendment rights; it also imposes unjust mandates on families and perpetuates a climate that fosters racial bias within law enforcement. This, in turn, results in the potential unfair targeting and discrimination against those very professionals entrusted with upholding justice.
“This is a classic example of a well-intentioned bill that instead strips away personal liberties and sets up difficult and discriminatory cases for our law enforcement officers.” Imagine taking an emergency call with your kids screaming in the back seat only to get slapped with an offense as your electronic records are unjustly confiscated and searched.” - PA House Freedom Caucus Chair Rep. Dawn Keefer (R-York)
Instead of a promoting a system where law enforcement upholds the principles of impartiality for all Pennsylvania residents, regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation, SB-37 sadly steers officers toward discriminatory practices, mainly targeting individuals who fit a stereotypical Caucasian profile.
Consequently, numerous Pennsylvanians, without any fault of their own, would find themselves unjustly entangled in this web of discrimination, including members of the Christian and Jewish faiths.
This is utterly unacceptable within the United States of America, let alone in the birthplace of American freedom.
As Freedom Caucus Member Rep. Joe Hamm (R-Sullivan, Lycoming) pointed out:
“We shouldn’t sacrifice the illusion of ultimate safety for the removal of our liberties. This bill peels back freedoms, forces mandates on families, encourages police to discriminate, and subjects Pennsylvanians’ phone records to search and seizure without a warrant. The possibilities for abuse and oversight outweigh the prospect of safety with SB 37.”
In a striking parallel to Section 702 of the FISA Bill, SB-37 emerges as a stark reminder of governmental overreach, casting a shadow over every Pennsylvanian and the foundational principles of American liberty. The potential for exploitation and the glaring lack of oversight inherent in this legislation should stir concern among all residents of Pennsylvania, regardless of their political affiliations.
While Republicans and Democrats in elected office have perennially disagreed on various issues, many can recall a time when both parties staunchly defended our Constitutional Rights and Civil Liberties. Nowadays, we see a significant faction of Democrats, and even self-proclaimed "Republicans," rallying behind policies seemingly lifted straight from the playbook of Communist China—SB-37 being a glaring example.
This unholy alliance is fueled by fat checks from an array of radical left-wing organizations and special interest groups, both in Washington and Harrisburg.
Indeed, the deceptive phantoms lurking within the left-wing donor echelons yearn for a return to the very oppression our brave founders rebelled against—a descent into a third-world existence where we merely endure under the shackles of tyranny. Their agenda seeks to sculpt our nation and Commonwealth into a mirror image of Beijing's Surveillance State.
Implementing this vision entails buying off money- and clout-hungry politicians at every level of governance. Through this method, they exploit the guise of safeguarding our security to policies intended to chip away at the hard-won freedoms, liberties, and economic opportunities rightfully belonging to us as citizens.
It's tough to imagine how any patriotic American, particularly an incumbent draped in Republican liberty could lend their support to and advocate for such an agenda.
Yet, true to form, Dauphin County's very own so-called "Republican" Representative Tom Mehaffie (PA-106) succumbed to the whims of his left-wing puppeteers by voting in support of this egregious bill. And lo and behold, this isn't his first dalliance in the political circus.
“Turncoat Tom” Mehaffie Voted With The Democrats To Destroy Our Liberties AGAIN
As a lifelong resident of Dauphin County within Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District, like countless others, I deeply appreciate Rep. Scott Perry's unwavering courage and steadfast advocacy for us in Washington, D.C. Our America First Congressman exemplifies genuine leadership, fiercely defending our constitutional rights, civil liberties and the American Dream.
Unlike many of his GOP counterparts, Perry boldly confronts corruption and demands accountability from those in power. His principled opposition to the FISA reauthorization bill, which threatens warrantless surveillance of American citizens, underscores his dedication to protecting our Fourth Amendment rights and loyalty to constituents.
Sadly, many residents within Rep. Perry's district, particularly those of us in the 106th legislative District, do not receive the same caliber of leadership and commitment from our “Republican” State Representative, Tom Mehaffie, who recently voted with the Democrats in favor of the menacing SB-37, undermining our Fourth Amendment.
But at this point, Mehaffie's blatant disregard for our fundamental rights is hardly newsworthy. This is the same individual who was the prime sponsor of another bill calling to ban our gas stoves and affordable household appliances.
For the last eight years, “Turncoat Tom” has built a failed record in Harrisburg by being a loyal servant to corrupt left-wing special interests who fund his perpetual reelection.
At the same time, Mehaffie has betrayed his GOP colleagues and constituents repeatedly while voting with the Democrats on every issue that matters most to Republicans, conservatives, and people of faith.
Going down the list:
Mehaffie's antics have earned him the dubious distinction of being considered Governor Shapiro and the Democrats' favorite "Republican" in Harrisburg. Meanwhile, within GOP circles and among constituents, he's earned the title of Pennsylvania's foremost RINO. Clearly, any incumbent who claims to be a "Republican" with a record like Mehaffie's doesn't belong in elected office.
Nevertheless, the unfortunate reality persists: he remains deeply entrenched, shielded by the considerable resources of corrupt liberal special interests, who consistently fill his campaign coffers. Mehaffie's close ties with Democrats only compound the challenge of unseating him.
In this election cycle, Mehaffie finds himself running unopposed once more, heralded as the "Clear Choice" by the same left-wing ghouls who exert undue influence over him and, by extension, PA-106. This narrative follows a series of political tricks in which he and his cronies contested petition signatures and employed legal tactics to coerce both of his opponents into withdrawing from the race.
Despite these challenges, more and more Republicans across our Commonwealth are recognizing the dangerous grip that corrupt special interests maintain over PA-106, all thanks to their puppet, Rep. Tom Mehaffie — a central figure in their assault on our God-given freedoms and civil liberties. My mission is to illuminate these truths and spread them far and wide to as many Pennsylvanians as possible.
By 2026, I strive to ensure that PA-106's hardworking residents have the alternative choice they've been unjustly denied in this election cycle. Ten years of "Turncoat Tom" undermining our liberty is too long; this RINO has to go.
The Work Ahead Of Us
In the final analysis, my fellow citizens, the land we love is deteriorating rapidly, with our liberty under siege at every level by those who claim to care about our security. But we know better. As the great Pennsylvanian Benjamin Franklin once said, "Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary Safety deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." As the rightful heirs of the American Revolution, we must embrace the responsibility that history has bestowed upon us to defend its spoils, and restore our nation’s greatness.
This historical moment demands that Pennsylvania emerge as a guiding light, leading the charge toward this noble endeavor. Now, more than ever, we must stand behind President Donald J. Trump and ensure his rightful return to the White House in this critical election year. Moreover, we must redouble our efforts to re-elect our proven America First champions, especially Rep. Scott Perry, as they tirelessly champion our cause on Capitol Hill.
Fortunately, Pennsylvanians have ample opportunities to participate in the battle to save our freedom this November. I strongly urge those passionate about making a difference to join Scott Presler's Early Vote Action Team. Whether you're inclined towards writing postcards, sending texts, making calls, or registering new voters at local gatherings such as gun shows, country fairs, and community events, every single action makes a significant huge difference in the outcome of the 2024 election cycle.
Another avenue for Pennsylvanians to make their mark is by participating in the Pennsylvania Chase across the Keystone State, an initiative that aims for grassroots Republicans to outpace Democrats in door-knocking and mail-in ballot returns in 2024. Whether you're eager to participate directly or want to sponsor a ballot chaser, there's a way for everyone to get involved and play a crucial role.
Ultimately, the heartbeat of our Constitutional Republic does not reside in the halls of power or in the grasp of self-serving interests in Washington, D.C., and Harrisburg. It beats with the collective strength of WE, THE PEOPLE.
Let us march forward together, united in purpose, firm in resolve, and determined to build a future worthy of our unlimited potential.
The best is yet to come.
